Homeschool Art Classes

Artful Journey gallery will again be hosting art classes for homeschool students for the 2026 school year. Starting in the fall of 2026 and continuing until the spring of 2027, our veteran homeschool mom and art teacher, Shari Pittenger, will lead the Junior High & High School level kids through 2 semesters of art.

The first semester classes will focus on drawing skills and how to improve your work by incorporating the elements of art such as color, line, texture, etc.

The second semester will build on the first semester’s class content and cover a variety of related subject matter such as lettering, graphic design, optical illusions, sculpture, etc.

Each class will include a Bible verse and brief presentation of how this verse relates to the art world or a quote from an artist and how it relates to Scripture. We will work on a project in class and there will also be art homework.

You will be responsible for your own supplies—which many of you may already have.

TOURS

Tours for you and your family and/or co-op are available. This is a very family-friendly gallery full of the work of very talented local artists. Please keep in mind though, that some of the art is very fragile and expensive and for the artists’ sake, we have the “you break it—you buy it” policy. Please call the gallery at 309-632-4701 to schedule a time.

We hope to see many of you there soon so we can assist you and your family with your “artful journey”!
