What are Resident Artists?

Artful Journey is a unique art gallery, located in Peoria. We represent Local artists, from Illinois, who have committed to exhibit their art with us for an extended period of time. We have a lovely 2400 sq. ft. space where we exhibit all kinds of art (wall art, 3-D, etc). We also have a very large classroom where we hold classes led by artists. Resident artists have the benefit of teaching classes at the gallery if they choose.

What makes us unique?

• We collect no commission from the artist, you receive 100% of the sales* from your art and sacrifice no part of it to the gallery.
  (*the only deduction is for any merchant fees from credit card sales).

• We focus on Local Artists. We have learned there is an enormous pool of talent right in our own backyard and they need a place to display and sell their art. Artful Journey can be that for you.

• If you teach classes, we don’t limit your earnings to just an hourly rate, You receive payment for each student that enrolls in your class. There is a 25% donation to the gallery from that to help with operating expenses like heating and lights, but the rest is yours From Each Student.

What are we looking for? Categories include:

• Wall Art: Painting, Drawing, Prints*, Photography & 2D Digital Art (All wall art must be wired for hanging)

• Fiber Art! (Non-clothing fiber art)

• 3-D/Shelf Art: Sculpture Art (pottery, concrete, wood, mixed media, felting sculptures, small statues, etc.)

• Stained glass (may fit in either Wall art or 3-D/Shelf depending on each piece.)

• Mixed Media & Whimsical art - we have opened a new room dedicated to this art style. Bring it!

• Other 3-D or Shelf Art

*Prints must be in cellophane sleeve. Framed prints and other wall art must be properly wired for hanging. (sawtooth is not acceptable)

Commitment:

We require a 4-month commitment on the part of the artists, after which you may opt to leave giving a 30-day notice. Example: you could give notice at the end of the 4th month (or stay) , you will pay for the 5th month, and then be able to leave at the end of the 5th month. If that’s confusing, send us an email - artists@artfuljourney.art. Note: there are no refunds for Art sold, classes, rents, gift cards or subscriptions.

How do I find out more?

1. Fill out this “interest” form to let us know you are interested, remember to attach 3 photos of your Current art.

2. Print a copy of the Artist Agreement here.
Once you are accepted, . . . read it, sign it and bring it with a check for rent payment. (We do not accept credit cards for membership/rent. )

Membership / Rents

• Wall Artists - $100 /month

• Spouses of Wall artists $75/month

• 3-D/Shelf Artists - $60 / month
