I believe God has given the gift of creativity to everyone, but that we reflect His creativity in different ways. Also, when we’re given a gift, I believe we’re called to use and cultivate it to honor and serve God.

Often I hear people say, “I don’t have a creative bone in my body” because they’re comparing themselves with an artist—and there are so many more ways to be creative than just art. That being said, I feel that art and music are two of the best ways to be creative. I especially enjoy acrylic painting and fiber art both separately and together.

I continually drew, painted, crocheted and sewed throughout my childhood and high school years, which led me to go into graphic design for my college degree.

After graduation, I stayed at home to homeschool our 6 kids and pursued part-time self-employment work doing artwork such as business logos, paintings by commission, sign painting, interior decorating and more. I also taught art In the homeschool co-ops that my children were in.

Since becoming an empty-nester, I have really enjoyed spending more time pursuing creative endeavors and encouraging others to do the same—especially when it honors God and ministers to others.
