Artist Statement 

Indiana was where I spent my childhood, complete with a small grain and livestock farm as my personal playground. My family worked the land (I drove a tractor at the age of six), and shared the responsibilities of tending the livestock and various pets and animals, all while experiencing the ups and downs of farm life. Little did I know, behind the scenes, my parents were magicians, turning our financial woes into a childhood rich with love, joy, and a profound appreciation for the wonders of nature.

For much of my adult life, I have been an independent Graphic Artist, working alongside my husband. We collaborated with companies such as Apple, 3M, Target, IBM, and many more using computers and digital tools to complete our creations. While I valued this career, ultimately, I find painting and drawing the traditional ways bring me greater peace and fulfillment.

Despite spending over 30 years in densely populated urban areas like the Twin Cities in Minnesota, I still find the most inspiration in nature for my creativity. One of my favorite activities is Nature Journaling, where I explore the outdoors, observe its beauty, and illustrate my findings. Many of these experiences influence my finished gallery paintings.

I create art using various mediums, often blending them into mixed-media pieces. My projects typically involve watercolor, ink, acrylic, and graphite. Whether I’m working on small miniatures or expansive canvases, I pay close attention to detail, fueled by my passion for diving deep into researching my subjects.
