Why do I take photographs and create art? Because I like to. Simple Question, Simple answer.
The more in depth answer is that I like to share my perspective of the world with others.
My camera, computer and phone are my primary tools, However, at times, I will also employ my drawing, painting, jewelry and sculpting hobbies as a portion of my work as well.
I use my cameras to capture the world both as it is, and as I see it. I enjoy taking my photography and seeing what new image I can create with what emotion, or story. I use color, mostly bold richly saturated colors, to grab attention and keep it. I use depth of field to help lead the viewer to the main topic. I use photo blending to create a new landscape or flower that just isn’t in the world. Incorporating my other arts into my photography is as simple as taking a picture of the item in question and then using the computer editing software to change it up. It's the photo editing programs that bring my vision out of the original image. I try to capture my present mood, emotion in each piece using differences in style, color, contrast, and either adding forms or deleting them. Once I have several different copies, I use the different programs to blend them together. Discovering the new images created during the blending process is what I enjoy the most. The differences that occur because of my state of mind at the time I took the picture are not the same as when I’m blending the copies to make the final image mean that I also have a range of emotion in each piece. At the end of this process, I can have a single image, or up to twenty that qualify as final prints to me. Each one valid and equally true to my inner vision.
